The ‘Sunrise to Sunset' fundraiser for the charity ‘Windsurfing for Cancer Research' has been a popular way to get involved with NWW. Held this year on 01 May, the fundraiser encourages entrants to spend a full day out on the water. Since 2008 NWW and W4CR have been closely linked and this year the sunrise to sunset challenge is open to windsurfers across the country with many new schools and windsurfing hotspots already signed up.
This year the ‘Sunrise to Sunset' challenge will have significant poignancy as David Tuttlebee, founder of the W4CR charity sadly lost his battle with cancer and passed away in September.
The ‘David Tuttlebee Memorial Trophy' has been created in his memory and will be awarded to the Team15, youth windsurfing club who have given the most commitment to raising money in the ‘Sunrise to Sunset' challenge.
To find out more about the Sunrise Sunset Challenge visit the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, where the trophy will be on display on the W4CR stand in the windsurfing area (Panoramic Hall).
To maximise participation in your event, make sure you register your Sunrise to Sunset' event on the National Windsurfing Week map as well as on the W4CR website. |
