Quote:"A big attraction for me is the huge array of disciplines to aim at within the sport, from light wind freestyle, through high wind blasting and advanced freestyle, to wave sailing. I’ve also found it a really great community and can’t think of many sports where beginners like me get to go out on the same playing field with pros. Pottering around an old Bedfordshire clay pit with a pro who’s usually competing around the world on huge gnarly waves is a great experience "John Mitchelin Vote in our poll..... |

DescriptionPolkerris Beach combines an idyllic sandy Cornish cove with first class watersports facilities. It’s as good for a day trip as it is for a two-week holiday or intensive watersports course. From the smallest sandcastle-building toddler to the seasoned watersport enthusiast, there is something for everyone here. Picture this – a sheltered, sandy beach in a small village, self-catering accommodation just up the lane, no through traffic, a beach shop and café, equipment rental so you don’t have to lug everything with you and personalised windsurfing and sailing tuition at our RYA Recognised Training Centre. Round that off with a beer in the Rashleigh Inn right on the beach as the sun sets and you have the makings of the perfect Cornish beach scene.Located a couple of miles from Fowey in South East Cornwall, Polkerris is easy to get to by car. It’s also close to Par mainline station with direct and frequent train services from London. The Polkerris Beach Company is based in a 17th century pilchard store, right on the beach with plenty of space and facilities. We welcome enquiries for special events: anything from a barbeque for a family occasion to the Fowey Lifeboat's 150th anniversary which we are proud to host on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May 2009. The business is privately owned and run by the Shillito family: we look forward to welcoming you soon!EventList powered by schlu.net |
