I first got interested in windsurfing through photography…had been taking shots of windsurfers and selling them, with some success. I realised the people doing it were having a lot of fun, so I was thinking about having a go at some point myself. Then one miserable windy September Sunday, I was walking along Hunstanton sea front with the wife and kids and saw some people out on the water. Realised they were having a lot more fun than I was, so I resolved to give it a go. Next weekend I had my first lesson.

Vote in our poll.....

How long have you windsurfed ?

Amazing / challenging / fantastic / exciting / a great experience / the biggest rush of your life

These are just some of the words used by windsurfers when we asked them what they loved about the sport.

Windsurfing is not only a huge adrenalin buzz it's also also a great way to make new friends and keep fit at the same time. If you like a challenge there's always something new to learn and, in the process, windsurfing can lead you to some of the most beautiful places in the world.

But don't just take our word for it. Why not take part in National Windsurfing Week and experience this all for yourself?
